Contact your Member of Parliament

Posted by Kevin on 1/24/2005 @ 11:12 am

There’s a new tool on this web site, and it’s all the rage:

If you live in Newfoundland and Labrador, go here and send a letter to your Member of Parliament.

If you live outside of Newfoundland and Labrador, click here to visit the Parliament web site and contact your own MPs.

A meeting is set for this coming Friday, January 28th. In the coming days, we need to make sure our elected officials know that we expect them to work towards the best deal possible for Newfoundland and Labrador. Please, contact your NL MP. If you live in another province, tell your Canadian members to support this cause.

If you are living outside of NL and you do send a letter to your MP, leave a comment and tell us about it!

  1. Everyone should consider sending a letter or email to John Efford, regardless of whether he is your MP, as he is currently the Minister of Natural Resources in the federal cabinet.

  2. Anybody who wants to email Efford can do so by clicking here. I feel that Efford is more likely to listen to direct constituents, but by all means, any citizen can contact him. Cheers Phil.

  5. I have already contacted all Liberal and Conservative MPs, and have urged all my family, friends and acquaintances to do likewise.

But with this all important meeting coming up on Friday I will certainly do so again.

Due to the limited time available, I’ve choosen to do so by E-Mail.

    Kevin:

Thanks for all your efforts keep up the good work.

I don’t know if Mr. Martin will react in a positive way, but we have to let him know, what Newfoundlanders expect of him, and the consequences of not meeting our expectations.

We can certainly deny a seat to Mr. efford and his Liberal compatriots, seats that Mr. Martin may need badly in the next Federal election, whenever he gets the coutage to call it.

  7. MP Geoff Regan got a letter from me from Halifax.

We should be use this campaign to target NS MPs too–they should be lobbying for Newfoundland.

  8. Thanks again Kevin for this site. It is such an excellent idea.

The participation on this blog is amazing. It says so much about the whole situation. I love this new way of organizing and getting our voices out there and reaching those in power.

    Friday!!!

  9. Thank you Kevin, from another very “concerned Canadian.” Newfoundland and the WHOLE east coast is a very precious part of Canada. Ottawa is so totally out of sinc to think that they can just lord it over everyone. Being from Alberta, I know the feeling. Thanks again, and I will be keeping a close watch on what transpires.

  11. Kevin the recent additions are great, keep up the wonderful work!

Got my fax software setup last night and sent Prime Minister Paul Martin a fax version of your Fair Deal letter along with a few comments of my own. It would be nice to bombard his fax machine as well, imagine him waiting on an “urgent” fax and his secretary telling him that Newfoundlanders and Labradorians have used up his last fax paper roll!

Do you or anyone out there know of any fax numbers for Goodale and Efford?

  12. Got Martin, Goodale, Efford and Hearn. Followed with slow-mail versions.
